My name is Kathy Matthews, and I welcome you to this website especially designed for those of us who live in La Pine, Sunriver, Gilchrist and Crescent. It is intended to outline the community resources available to Southern Deschutes County and Northern Klamath County. There is some info on Northern Lake County also included. It is not sponsored by anybody but me.
Please click on the different page links on the top of the page to find the help you need in each subject matter. Resources for Seniors, Veterans and those with Disabilities are located at the bottom of this page.
The sidebar is full of information; please take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with all that is on there. Especially helpful, at the top of the sidebar, are links to employment in our area.
There are also 100's more resource links at the very bottom of the page for the whole Central Oregon area ... just click on each box to find out more about each agency and the resource links they have posted. I have also concentrated information for those with disabilities along with those links.
My goal is to pull out and organize applicable information for our end of the county. Of course, we may have to travel to Bend or Redmond for some things, but it is also nice to know what is offered right here at home.

* La Pine Community Kitchen:
The La Pine Community Kitchen serves hot meals Monday thru Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. They also have a produce pantry and a clothing closet. Services are no charge, but donations are always welcomed.

* St. Vincent de Paul of La Pine:
St. Vincent de Paul of La Pine serves over 10,000 square miles of Central Oregon covering Southern Deschutes, Northern Lake and Northern Klamath Counties. It is a 501(C) non-profit corporation.
St. Vincent de Paul's Thrift store is located across from Bi-Mart, and all proceeds go towards helping local people in need. 541-1956.
They also have a social services building where they operate a food pantry and help meet a variety of other needs. 541-536-6135

* NeighborImpact:
NeighborImpact is based in Redmond but also has an office in La Pine, located in the John C. Johnson building across from the library. They help Central Oregonians with heat, housing, food, Head Start, Child Care resources and referrals and much more. They even help with septic repairs if you qualify.

If you have a child enrolled in the Bend/La Pine school system, they have an advocate. FAN Advocates help to match children up with local services, including food, clothing, school supplies, utilities, housing, and more.

* La Pine Lions Club:
The La Pine Lions Club is part of a worldwide service organization who helps their local communities. They also help provide eye glasses, hearing aides and dental work free of charge.

There are also Lions clubs located in Bend, Redmond, Crescent/Gilchrest, Silver Lake, and Sunriver. Anyone seeking assistance with eye exams, eye glasses, hearing exams and hearing aids who live in these cities or local areas should contact a local Lions Club.

The La Pine Community Heath Center has several locations in Newberry Country and offers a whole range of services. There are locations two locations in La Pine, the main clinic on Huntington and the La Pine School-based clinic. Sunriver and Gilchrist both have clinics, and so does Christmas Valley. * Sunriver Womens Club:
The SRWC is a non-profit community service organization. Membership is open to all women in Sunriver and the surrounding areas and communities.
The Sunriver Women's Club Philanthropy Committee awarded $32,500 to 15 non-profit organizations serving South Deschutes county at its Annual Giving Luncheon on April 19, 2016.
The SRWC focuses its charitable awards on non-profit organizations whose work primarily benefits those organizations meeting the basic needs (i.e. health, food, shelter, clothing and education) of the underserved population residing in the South Deschutes County area.
We are now accepting grant applications from local nonprofits for 2017.
